Alzheimers Football Memory Campaign - GISC Donations

We take great pleasure in supporting the Alzheimers Society Football Memories campaign. A group of 7 friends from Kent have joined forces to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s/Dementia.

As part of this campaign the friends, led by Terry Marsh, are producing a collection which includes the stand out memories from as many football clubs as possible. The collection will be dedicated to people affected with Alzheimer's, their families and carers.

The GISC are delighted to support the campaign and have donated

  • A signed shirt from the 2008/2009 Promotion season.

  • Back with a Vengeance book - Photos and reports of the 2008/2009 promotion season.

  • 60 Gillingham FC programmes from the 60’s to the present day.

  • A print of Gillingham’s winning goal against Wigan at Wembley in 2000 signed by Andy Thomson, Steve Butler, Vince Bartam and Andy Hessenthaler.

  • The Gills book - Published 1980 - A record of Gillingham through the years

  • Gillingham FC / GISC 125 Anniversary Pin Badge

Donations made to the campaign by the GISC

Alzheimers is now the biggest killer in the UK and there is currently no cure.

The items donated will not be for sale and would be based in the UK to view as a museum piece. One display has been held at Fulham FC, and this was a great success

The campaign is still looking for memories from Gillingham supporters. Just receiving one old programme would make a massive difference. Even a simple message of support would be tremendous. The campaign would also welcome photos of fans from across the ages to put on display.

If you have any items you would like to donate to the campaign the GISC are happy to pass them on. Please email info@GillsISC.co.uk and we will arrange to collect the item(s) from you, or provide you with postal details.

We will keep you up to date every step of the way. The team have recently completed a "Where's Wally Memory Walk" which was a great success.
