In case you didn't read our initial announcement, the Gillingham FC Supporters' Club wants to make you aware that the Gills' Museum project is already underway and our intention is to open to supporters in time for the 2027/28 season!
Some supporters have commented that the artists' impression makes them think that the museum will be relatively small - but think again - it will take up the entire space of the old Gills' Megastore so it will be a very large space and will also include a small cinema to one side. Our intention is to make YOUR museum one of the biggest - and best - outside of the Premier League and will certainly be even better than many in the top flight!
The museum will go right back to the start of the football club in 1893 when New Brompton were formed and will cover so many unforgettable landmarks in the Gills' history including the players and, of course, the supporters who’ve shaped the club over the generations.
But we can’t do it without help and we’re inviting supporters, sponsors and volunteers to help make the museum a reality:
•      Firstly, we need individuals, companies, groups and sponsors to help our fundraising and ask that you make a financial contribution - no matter how small - by going to the link on the Gillingham FC Supporters website: www.gfcsc.co.uk/donate
Do be aware that we are already raising significant funding from other sources but just think - if every regular supporter donated just £10 then we would raise an incredible £50K+ in no time. IMPORTANT: Please be assured that all monies raised through donations will go direct to a fund managed and audited by the Gillingham FC Supporters' Club and the money raised will only be used for the specific purpose of creating this wonderful museum.
•      Fans: We’re looking for memorabilia - shirts, scarves, match tickets, photos, programmes or souvenirs that help tell the story of our club, especially from the early years.
•      Volunteers and professionals: If you have skills in design, construction, archiving, display, or heritage work, we’d love to hear from you. If you’re interested in learning about museum curation and stewarding, we can provide training and support.
As we head into the Christmas period, when you’re getting your decorations down or putting them away, why not have a look in your loft - you never know what treasures you might find that could become part of the museum collection.
Together, we can build something lasting. A space that honours the past, celebrates the present, and inspires the next generation of Gills' supporters.
Will YOU be part of the Gills' story?
